Nothing in recent years has so gripped the attention of the community as the murder of Mrs. Marilyn Sheppard.

As you know, newspapers not only around this area but across the country have devoted much space to developments in the mystery.

Of necessity, Dr. Samuel H. Sheppard has become a central figure in the investigation. This is true because he is the only person other than his wife and son known to have been in their home that morning. Because the case seems stalemated, Dr. Sheppard has become a mystery man. Much of the whispering and rumor-spreading can disappear, I feel sure, with a complete expression from Dr. Sheppard himself.

It is with this thought in mind that the following questions are submitted to Dr. Sheppard through you as his counsel. The columns of The Press are open to both of you for your replies to these queries and any other matters you may deem pertinent to the case.
